Short Fiction Collection Volume IV
Our Interactive Short Fiction programs have been designed to quickly interest your students in great classics of literature. The students are required to answer questions as they read the story. A preliminary reading and discussion in class or individual reading is helpful before taking on this task. The format of our programs (questions and answers) makes them ideal for either study or testing purposes. Unlike regular paper tests, our programs require an answer for each question before another question is given. If a student answers incorrectly, the correct answer is revealed. Entire test is scored on screen and allows for a print out for teacher and student (a report card). There is an immediacy to reading which is not captured through traditional reading. In addition you also save on paper and other classroom materials. Questions and answers can be printed out by teachers for classroom planning.
In the computer lab they can be great devices for cooperative learning, by grouping students around a machine to incite decision making. They can also be used in a controlled environment as a test of reading knowledge -- individually or in groups. These programs also make great tools when used as part of a Special Education curriculum, a home schooling plan, and ESL programs.
If you like the short story by O'Henry called The Gift of the Magi, you and your classes will love using Interactive Gift of the Magi. Explore this Christmas themed love story that ends with and emotional twist.
Interactive Gift of the Magi #SF5
Edgar Allan Poe's mystery of family sins mixed with the mystery of catalepsy make the story of The Fall of the House of Usher a most fascinating tale, but one that is difficult reading for the young student. Our interactive study guide or test with questions and answers designed by John Spencer make student involvement and understanding a breeze.
Interactive Fall of the House of Usher #SF6
Dr. Heidegger has decided to toy with people's lives, so he gathers a group of old friends (very old friends) together for a sample of his special beverage -- water from the Fountain of Youth. It doesn't take long for the water to take effect, and it doesn't take long for all of the old friends to once again turn on each other. Dr. Heidgger's experiment seems like it has to do with the powers of the water, but in reality it has to do with human nature. Your kids will love this interesting study guide to the strange and fascinating story by Nathaniel Hawthorne -- Dr. Heidegger's Experiment.
Interactive Dr. Heidegger's Experiment #SF7
